Preparation For the Meditation
Find a place where you can be alone, warm and comfortable. Make sure you have something warm to put on if you become chilly. Turn off the telephone and put a do not disturb sign on the front door. If possible avoid a room where electrical appliances are running, especially computers & televisions. Turn off main lights, use a table lamp or candle instead. During daylight pull the curtains a little to create a twilight effect. Have a glass of water ready.
Prepare yourself: Stand quietly in the center of the room with your eyes closed. Allow your breathing to become deeper; then take 3 deep slow cleansing breathes, as you do so see yourself and the room fill with a protective white light.
Now Sit with your back as straight as possible, adjust your position so that you are comfortable.
If you find your thoughts wander, do not allow it to disturb you. Allow each thought to come into your mind, acknowledge it then let it to go, like a small fluffy cloud passing across the sky. Do not worry if you find it difficult to visualize, for most of us this takes a while to achieve. It takes patience and practice. Do not try too hard, if you cannot see images just think of the words instead.
There is no right or wrong way to meditate; feel free to meditate in whatever way feels right for you. You can close your eyes or keep them open, the choice is always yours. Most people prefer to close their eyes as this shuts out visual distraction. If you choose to keep your eyes open try to focus on a specific object, such as a candle flame, flower or crystal.
Make sure you spend a few moments quietly, after the meditation, have something to eat and drink. Try not to do anything which requires concentration for at least one hour after you have meditated.
How Do I Listen to These Meditations/and or messages from Dr. Kelli?
There are many ways you can listen to these meditations.
On your Computer - Perhaps most simply, you can click on the download and listen to it right now through your computer speakers. Unfortunately, some computers are noisy and intrusive, so you may like to use the other method below for best effect.
Listen on your Digital Media Player - Do you have an iPod or other mp3 player? You can listen to all Dr. Kelli's Meditations just by adding the file to your iTunes library, or however else you usually download music to your device.
Wow - that's too loud!
If you're listening to the meditation on your computer, unfortunately some audio players (especially Windows Media Player), tend to make audio files sound louder than they original are. That's fine for music, but hardly relaxing for meditation. Adjust the sound control on your PC and your speakers until you find the right balance.
